CBS Library acquires a new library system

From May 20 till May 31, during which period we transfer data from one library system to the other, our services will be affected. To slightly ease matters for you, we will suspend all return dates during this period.

You will still be able to

  • Borrow and return materials at the circulation desk
  • Search the library catalogue
  • Access electronic journals, articles and databases
  • Pick up reserved books

You will not be able to

  • Use the self service machines
  • Check your library account
  • Renew loans
  • Pay fines and bills
  • Make reservations
  • Request materials from other libraries. Please use your public library until we are able to offer this service again.

In the transition period, information concerning accessibility of library materials will be unreliable as these data will not be updated.

We expect to start using the new library system on May 31 and further expect it to be fully operational by early June.

If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us.

We apologize for any inconveniences but are looking forward to offering you a new and state-of-the-art library system

What is a library system?
Apart from enabling you to search library materials, systems of this kind store information concerning the identity of our patrons and temporary records of their library transactions: e.g. loans, reserved items, etc.

Why change to a new library system?
Since development of the present library system for the Danish market has been discontinued, the CBS Library decided to acquire a new library system to meet our future requirements. For these reasons our choice fell on Aleph which is the preferred library system among academic libraries in Denmark and abroad.
